Today’s systems start at 13.2 SEER, and many homeowners choose 16 SEER or higher, which can reduce electricity consumption by 4 - 6% or more, depending on the age and condition of your current system.

Refrigerant Changes
The industry is undergoing another refrigerant transition in accordance with EPA regulations. Beginning in 2025, all newly manufactured air conditioning equipment must use R454B or R32 refrigerant, a more environmentally friendly option with significantly lower global warming impact than previous refrigerants. R22 systems are no longer supported by manufacturers, and the refrigerant is extremely limited. R410A equipment is being phased out as manufacturers transition to new systems.
